Important Rules for Admission

1.A student shall be eligible for admission to any course of study offered by the University if she/he fulfills the eligibility criteria and followed the admission process prescribed by the University for the particular course of study.

2.A student shall also be eligible for admission to any course of study of this University on migration from any other University or Board if she/he has passed an examination equivalent to the examination of this University prescribed by the Ordinances for admission to the concerned course of this University: For transfer of credits please refer to Ordinances (5) of the University available on website.

3.Every student admitted to a Department shall be enrolled by the University on receipt of an application for enrolment from her/him duly forwarded by the concerned Head of the Department: Provided that the application for enrolment shall be supported by:

  • Mark sheet of qualifying examination, in original
  • Migration certificate or no objection certificate, in original; and
  • Fee, as prescribed by the university.

4.Application form for admission to the various programs offered by University may be obtained from the admission office or downloaded from the website. The application fee is Rs. 200.

5.Admission of students shall be made strictly on the basis of merit adjudged through All-India Common Entrance Test or through Jagan Nath University, Entrance Test(JUEE), wherever applicable, aimed at assessing knowledge, comprehension and aptitude of the student to pursue higher studies through written test/viva/group discussion /personal interview or a combination of these.

6.However, provided that in case of courses where the intake of students is small, admission may be made on the basis of the merit adjudged through the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

7.The Entrance Examination shall be held at University campus and/or other such places as notified by the University from time to time.

8.Admissions to the various programmes of studies shall be made by the Admission Committee of the concerned Department comprising of the Dean/HOD as Chairman, and two members nominated by the Vice Chancellor.

9.The syllabi, format, duration, scheme of evaluation of the entrance examination shall be as decided by the University.

10.Minimum qualifications for admission to the programs in various Departments have been prescribed and available in information brochure/University website.

11.Only such candidates who have passed an examination of an Indian University/Board established or recognized by State/Central Government or such other examination as has been recognized equivalent by State/Central Government/University shall be considered for admission.

12.The University shall follow reservation policy prescribed by the State Government for private universities for admissions to various courses.

12.If, at any time, it is discovered that a candidate has made a false or incorrect statement or other fraudulent means have been used for securing admission her/his name shall be removed from the rolls of the University.

14.Minimum of 25% seats for admission in the University shall be reserved for students of the State of Haryana, out of which 10% seats shall be reserved for students belonging to Scheduled Castes of the State of Haryana.

15.The students shall deposit fees as prescribed by the University from time to time on or before the date fixed by the University. Merit-cum-means scholarships/Haryana Domicile scholarship are available. A student willing to avail this facility will have to apply on prescribed proforma available on the website.

16.Girl students are allowed 10% fee concession over and above the merit scholarships.

17.The other Rules and Regulations regarding payment of fee are given in Ordinance (6) of the University available on the website.

Admission process involving the following steps:

  • Filling up of application form for admission on prescribed proforma and along with payment of Rs. 200 as fee.
  • Appearing in Jagan Nath University Entrance Examination (JUEE) at a centre fixed by the University followed by GD/PI.
  • Visit to the campus, if required.
  • Issue of admission letter.
  • Deposit of fee and issue of enrolment letter.
  • Commencement of Semester w.e.f. 01-08-2016.

19.The following documents are required to be submitted at the time of deposit of the fee:

  • Self attested copies of 10th and 12th mark sheets.
  • Self attested copies of qualifying examination/entrance examination, wherever applicable.
  • Proof of residence.
  • 4 passport size photographs.

Terms and Conditions for Admission

1.Non-Refund of Fees

The fees once paid are not refundable for any reason whatsoever. Only Security Deposit will be refunded after making necessary adjustments as required.

2.Cancellation of Admission

Jagan Nath University reserves its right to cancel the admission of admitted student under any of the following circumstances:

  • If the fee is not deposited by the stipulated date.

  • If the candidate fails to join a particular programme by the stipulated date, after the fee has been paid.
  • If the candidate fails to furnish the proof of the stipulated minimum qualification.
  • If any student is found to be misbehaving or any other issue regarding discipline at any point of time.

3.Payment of Fee

Fee is to be paid in two equal installments on July 31st and December 31st each year, failing which a penalty of Rs. 20 per day will be charged for the next 30 days.

  • After a period of 30 days, the name of the defaulting students will be struck off the rolls. However, re-admission could be sought by paying Rs. 500 as re-admission fee along with the same fine.
  • On completion of the course, the students are required to fill in a prescribed ‘No Dues’ form for refund of Security Deposit and submit it in the office. The security deposit is claimed within six months of completion of course.

4.Right of Alteration / Modification

The University reserves its right to alter or modify the structure of any of the programs to attain the objective of excellence.

The University reserves the right to change the fee structure mentioned in the brochure.

The University reserves the right to modify, alter or include any other Rules and Regulations that may be deemed fit in the interest of the University


Any dispute pertaining to admission or any other matter concerning a student or alumnus of Jagan Nath University shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Jhajjar Court only.

6.Limitation Clause

No dispute shall be raised after the expiry of 30 days from the date on which the process of admission and / or selection is completed.

7.Agreement Clause

All admitted students shall be bound by the above mentioned Rules & Regulations of Jagan Nath University.
