Jagannath University, Bahadurgarh organized an event on account of Gandhi Jayanti on 3rd October, 2016. Students from different courses participated in the various events like singing, drama, skit performance. The event started at 3:00PM in the Moot Court in JNU campus. Prof. H.L. Verma, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Venita Singh, Principal, Dept. of Education, Mr. Prakash Arora, COE and heads of various departments and faculty members graced the occasion.
The event was hosted by Ms. Radhika, faculty of law dept. The assembly began with the lighting of a lamp, commemorating Gandhiji’s birthday. October 2nd, Birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was celebrated in the JNU, Bahadurgarh campus. As 2nd October was Sunday so the program was celebrated on 3rd October. Mr. Vijaypal, faculty of law department started the event by giving speech on Gandhiji’s life and Dr. Venita Singh shared her views on cleanliness and discussed about “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.” She also gave a brief overview of NSS club of the university. The skit by the students of BBA/B.Com and B.A/LLB was the highlight, which ignited a feel of patriotism in all of us. Students of B.Tech, BBA and B.A/LLB sang a patriotic song. A genuine homage was paid to the ‘Father of Our Nation’. The birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri was celebrated by the staff, students and management of Jagannath University, Bahadurgarh. The drama club “Antarman” performed a patriotic skit and a group song was presented by “Sur Sargam” music club and was well organized by Ms.Radhika Kapoor, Admin. Incharge and Mr. Rajesh Mehra, faculty of Mgmt. deptt. Later, Prof. H.L. Verma and Mr. Prakash Arora shared their views on the life of Mahatamaji and his struggle for freedom with other leaders against the British rule.
The staff members advised the students to work hard to achieve their goal. Jagannath University launched a cleanliness drive in the college premises under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The management, students and the staff of the college pledged to follow the path shown by father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi and also pledged to fulfill the dreams of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
At the end, National Anthem was sung and Mr. Prakash Arora, COE summed up the event with a vote of thanks to the organizing committee, participants and the audience.
