The students of Faculty of Management and Commerce and B.Tech participated in an awareness campaign against social extremism on 6 April 2017. They were accompanied by Dr. Rittu Sharma, Associate Professor, FMC. The students of Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, organized a campaign ‘ The Great Life’ through which they aim to spread awareness and seek views of youth against social extremism
The campaign started off with an introductory lecture by the students of MDU. They explained the purpose of their project and its relevance. It was followed by a presentation and video depicting the many social evils prevalent in our society today like Child Sexual Abuse, Dowry, Suicides and much more. The second session continued with a group discussion among students about child sexual abuse, its causes, and mitigation techniques. The last session was an extempore on various topics of social extremism like malnutrition, female foeticide etc.
The campaign provided a platform for students to discuss and think upon social issues and to ponder on ways to contribute to improving the society.
The session had some reflecting moments with students sharing their viewpoints and opinion with everyone.
